A tow truck driver working for Parking Management Company located in Houston, Texas today charged an unauthorized drop fee of $80 cash when the vehicle was not fully ready for transport.
This tow truck driver would only accept cash, the vehicle owner didn’t have cash, but had a credit card, which the driver refused to accept, then completes loading the vehicle and gives the vehicle owner a ride to an ATM for the cash.
The victim has filed a complaint with TDLR and tomorrow will file a compliant with the Houston Police Department’s Auto Dealers Detail that regulates towing in Houston. This company already been fined twice by TDLR and the actions of their driver will most likely get them a license revocation..
The tow truck driver was not very competent, but at least he provided a receipt to the victim to document his illegal behavior, since the victim’s daughter caught them the entire episode on her cellphone video camera, to which was provided as evidence with the TDLR complaint.
According to tow company, the driver claims he has been out stickering vehicles all day and done no tows or drop fees, which we know is an outright lie as we have a copy of the receipt provided by the victim their driver game them.
