APD Impound Facility Contractor, Southside Storage Busted by TCEQ

Southside Wrecker.Storage 9.5.15

Bobby Joe New, President of Southside Wrecker Inc and Southside Storage at 8200 South Congress, Austin, Texas believed he was untouchable, claiming many times “he” has APD (Austin Police Department) in his back pocket due to his brothers being police officers, all retired.

Well, he learned earlier this week, his status of being untouchable holds zero merit, when investigators with the Texas Commission on Environment Quality arrived at his storage facility.

The actions of Bobby New are pure fraud, period, as he was using a closed business (Bill’s Auto Salvage) “storm water permit” unrelated to his vehicle storage facility which bears the name of the “Austin Police Department Impound Facility.” To go three plus years without the required TCEQ permits reference confirmed hazardous spills within his storage facility within the Edward Aquifer Drainage Zone and failure to obtain TCEQ permits, will without a doubt hit him in his pocketbook, as now New will have to spend more money by hiring an attorney to represent himself and his company in a costly battle with TCEQ that carries steep fines and remediation costs of the areas of the spills at both storage facilities in Austin and Buda, Texas…

The public is reminded when you’re at a vehicle storage facility, take photos of any spills you observe and email them to TCEQ, include the address of the storage facility in the email and the subject line should state “Complaint”, your name will be kept confidential when filing the complaint.
